- new female Siamese kitten, (Yakshini) female, from Washington, N.J.
- first espresso machine, Krups Il Primo - wow, now I can have coffee similar to my favorite European coffeehouses! My first frothing was sort of flat!
- begin using File Maker Pro for database organization
- began using Quicken for financial organizing
February
- Bernar got second Sphynx kitten, (Mistanguette) female from Northern New Jersey
March
- Shiva has 6 Siamese kittens
- Bernar begins excavation for new basement room behind kitchen, under former small patio
- Elena Lecuona from Tenerife visits briefly

- Trenton City removes graffiti from Art Studio walls!

- get new lawn tractor and lawn mower

- Bernar's last New York Times delivery! He delivered it in rural New Jersey (Lambertville) and Pennsylvania (New Hope) areas, rain/ snow /shine, every day for over 6 years! They should have given him a medal!
- Bernar begins work on three-level fish ponds beside remains of greenhouse
July
- new 2 - line answering machine, Panasonic, replaced 2 separate units. Just what I need-- now I can not miss a call! B U T I already did because the messages tape was full -- twice ! I really wish life were as it was when I lived abroad -- no TV, no phone at La Atlántida, nothing missed A N D so much more accomplished/enjoyed-- es gibt gar keine Gumütlichkeit hier! La gente no sabe como vivir !

- school year begins again, my 13th year-- only have 7 more years to retire / go totally crazy/croak -- whichever comes first!
- install quarry tiles on new patio above new basement room
- install garage door on new basement room -- a tough job!
- stung by a bee for the first time -- on my lower lip, of all places!
October
- Bernar puts roof over new patio behind house, thus making it into a future living / breakfast room having a view of the garden and Koi ponds
- Shiva has 4 Siamese kittens; second litter this year
- Mrs. Phyllis Lucas, whom I met last December, died -- was Dalí's first U.S. publisher
- get new modem, FastMac V.34, 28,800 bps -- noticeably faster! The Apple Geo - Port Telecom Adapter never really worked the way it should have.
November
- Dr.R. Tucker Abbott died, age 77, in Florida; he introduced me to systematic conchology when I was 15, working in the Shell Department at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia. Began my shell collection and research under his guidance.
- F I R S T * S N O W F A L L ! Look for an unusual winter! We are reaching (or have reached) the minimum of this solar activity cycle = unstable / extreme weather patterns
- Bernar begins reorganizing Art Studio for potential reopening. The window displays look really classy!
- met Mr.François Tajan, art auctioneer from France, in New York with a view to auctioning some the artworks in my Collection by Lebourg, Picabia, Dubuffet, Alechinsky, Signac and Lhote in Paris
- made cheese cakes (cranberry) for the first in over 10 years!
December
My Power Macintosh 6100/60AV and I during an INTERNET pause
- finally got on the INTERNET ! Now I may once again begin to do some research -- no opportunity since I returned to the U.S., with the time that teaching demands of me. Wow, now my kids at school can really go wild with their science activities -- if inept administration can ever get things set-up correctly and efficiently! Phone lines and modem have been present for over a year already -- lacks modem installation software! Mine was ordered by mail and installed in less than two hours!!
