With the increased interest among collectors for different Limited Edition plush toys made by several manufacturers, I thought it would be a help to collectors, traders and sellers to offer a source for current "values" which may conveniently be found on the Internet. I have selected only four of the most popular makers to include on this list, simply because I also collect them!

The market for these toys, especially bears, is constantly changing, with wide fluctuations from one week to the next, and it can be difficult to keep up with the unpredictability of the market.

In the long run, those makers producing the lowest number of items in a particular version will become the most valuable over time. Although the Ty Corporation has made over 200 different Beanies, it is usually only the early ones which command the highest prices-- because they were NOT made in the astronomical quantities of the newer critters, even the most recent retireds, which are still piled high on dealers' shelves!

Retirements usually bring on a climb in prices, especially in the smaller editions. As the major gift-giving holidays, such as Christmas, approach I also note that prices rise faster and higher than fresh-baked bread!!

SUGGESTION : although individual bears may command relatively high prices, COMPLETE SETS of any manufacturer's series will usually always be worth more in the future as an investment! I ONLY collect complete sets, when possible, (I am an avid ARCTOPHILE!!) because I like and enjoy them, NOT as an alternative to an Individual Retirement Account!!

Perhaps the best up-to-the-minute prices for ANY collectible, be it toys, art or antiques is the eBay auction site. Use the Item Search to find virtually (NO PUN INTENDED!!) anything ever made! Check the Completed Auction results for the prices paid within the last two weeks to try to figure out trends. It is a very handy resource!

The following lists of LINKS is certainly NOT complete. I hope to add updates as they become available. If you know of a value site which I have not included, please EMAIL me.
