* Chapter 16 * 16/11 May 1997 |
11 May 1997
Hello once more,

******* A PIC of me in Cadaques, Spain (1994) -- where Dalí lived and painted *******
I have not been feeling all that well for awhile -- especially after that unenlightening check-up I had last week.
My left side has felt heavy for weeks -- it can not be the cancer site as that is more in the lower center. Kidney stones? Appendix (which side is it on?)?
My stomach always feels fullish, and I have been trying to eat less lately. Some gases, as usual.
I keep forgeting to mention that every time I take a shower I find head hair in the drain, thus I appear to be experiencing some fallout, which I did not really expect. Hope it does not continue for life! Although it might even prove beneficial -- I would save $$ on haircuts!
Tuesday I woke up with a runny nose and generalized feeling that I caught a cold or something (temperature was 97.8°F -- took a Tylenol Cold tablet and it worked.
My hip has been feeling its oats also -- B U T we had some thunderstorms and that might have contributed to the pain there.
I think that my concentration is off from what it usually is. I was doing some database stuff on the computer and my efforts were not as fluent as they were several weeks ago.
Little by little I attempt to organize the downstairs. Filing papers and stuff where they should go; cleared a couple shelves in one of the closets (that used to store general office stuff) in the former study/now bedroom for some clothes; put the computer books, etc. from upstairs on one of the bookshelves right in front of the computer setup. Threw out all of my science books from school, as well as loads of miscellaneous papers which had accumulated over the years -- still have loads of similar junk to check out.
It is so overwhelming that I easily tire of doing what little I get to do while at the same time thinking of all the rest that still has yet to be done!
Thursday already and still worrying about the Catscan next week.
Weight = 207#, fully clothed.
The new doorway is almost finished between the 1st and 2nd floors here. Bernar did the work. Nice 15 pane French-style door. Once the trim is in I can prime, then paint it.
Tracey is trying to make me pet her -- guess she notices that I need some live contact! Fabiola is sitting on the monitor-- for the heat. She does this upstairs on the VCR also.
I was sort of cold all day, so I raised the heat from 65 to 68°F. Usually wear a knit cap in bed because that room is usually 6-8° colder than the rest of the downstairs.
Nothing yet from Workers Compensation OR the Teachers Disability Pension I applied for in January. I have absolutely no idea how I survived all these months -- using what was left on my credit cards!!
It is raining out tonight, again. Yesterday was very cold and windy.
Oh, yes, Amaury sent me an e-mail filled with
"APPLAUSE"s
-- thought I would get the clap or something!
Lucy brought me dinner again -- pasta and meatballs -- have not had meatballs in ages!
I really have to get the stuff out of the van and fill it with some goodies from here and take it to the old house-- to get it out of the way and be able to straighten up this 1st floor. Lots of tables, hallways and corners filled with paintings, etc. -- I really hate it, sort of ! It reminds me of an authentic country antique shop with junk all over the place! No bites on selling the former home yet. I am really thinking of moving back there and finishing the restorations and all. We shall see!
Friday it was another dreary day -- cloudy with rain. The fish love it -- and Tracey refuses to walk around outside when it is wet out -- poor delicate creature!
I finally got around to getting my tax papers signed and sent out. Can not wait for the refund, which is less than in previous years for some reason.
Started spackling around the new door.
Bernar plans to begin moving to the 2nd floor tomorrow, Sunday. The famous door and trim is almost ready to get painted. I am getting ready for the flea market tomorrow. Have to let Tracey out then crawl into bed early as I have to get up at 5am.
Morning's at seven,
The hillside's dew pearled.
God's in His heaven,
All's right with the World.
OK for another shortish chapter. Hasta la próxima vez (Sp., until the next time),
Sonny
