Describing the feelings, mood swings, activities and
personal interactions experienced after being diagnosed
with colo-rectal cancer, and the periods
of chemo therapy and radiation
These chapters were originally emailed on a weekly basis via AOL to dozens of friends in the U.S. and abroad, many of whom I came into contact with in the AOL cancer chat rooms. The original chapters contained many special effects such as different colors and / or letter sizes for key words or phrases. The previous reincarnation of these pages did not include the photos -- this update of 26 July 2004 does have them.
My aim was to document my ordeal and, perhaps, to provide HOPE for those who may have been diagnosed with the same or a similar cancer and may be considering various treatment options (which are many, these days) -- at times my language may be blunt, or even crude, but I never lost my personal flavour of humor, which I still find is a marvelous healing tool! FAITH helped too.
The chapters are listed in chronological sequence, from January to June of 1997 -- links at the bottom of each segment either take you to the next chapter or return you back to this index. All links open in a new browser window, for convenience.
